Our Story
I, a female metalsmith, opened my Goldsmith/ Art Jeweller/ Silversmith studio and called it Wildheart, on Valentines Day 2013. I threw open its doors, and waited for Them to come: the Rockstars, the Dreamers, the Lovers; those with big dreams in their hearts, who lived an inner life larger than their outside world.
And come They did. I recognised each Wild Heart as they came through my doors, and said, You’ve found me. Let’s begin.
Like Hugh Grant, I discovered that Love actually is all around. It’s not always Lovers who come to Wildheart: sometimes it’s a mourning daughter, a pet owner, A Bad Ass Woman, a sentimental friend, an empowered survivor of emotional shipwreck.
It’s more than jewellery. It’s proof that Romance is not Dead.
As our Studio grew with you; in order to create our collection of signature Wildheart Art Jewellery; we developed 4 areas of bad-ass excellence that what we like to call…
The Wildheart Experience
Artistic Vision
We have a Fantasy Gothic aesthetic with a Rock Star Edge. Each artwork made by us is carefully considered by way of a lifetime of creative study, and deeply loved in its invention. We have dedicated ourselves to chronicling and reinventing the pursuit of True Love to last the Ages. We like Fairytales, and create antiqued artefacts of an idealised and perhaps non-existant world. As long as there’s a Wild Heart out there, we feel there’s still worlds within worlds, dreams within dreams, and hearts without ends. Ghosts, Lovers, Kings and Queens, mothers, improbable Loves; and Stories Told Without Words… in short, we’re pretty sure that Romance is not Dead.
2. Client-friendly
With each commission we throw all of ourselves into sharing our knowledge, our thoughts, and our artistic skills with you. We build heartfelt and inclusive client relationships throughout the commission process. Armed with our very fine, filigree understanding of the rich backstory and organic nature of the wearer, we bring ears and hearts that are wide open to your desires and hidden messages.
With the concept of Wildheart itself acting as a kind of spirit guide and artistic facilitator, together with each Client we create a modern mythology around each tiny monument to an endless depthless love story, laughing and crying along the way with you as we build our relationship. We are all about bringing you our carefully constructed, loving learning; and our slightly out of time vision of the world; honed in a lifetime of investigating true art and true love. Through an inclusive journey, we provide a safe space to guide you towards a Totally You Wildheart Artwork to Cherish Forever.
3. Technical Skills
We have the traditional skills to combine this vision and approach with the wicked technical savoir-faire of a FEMALE Metalsmith into 100% handcrafted artworks in precious materials. Power? We got it. We LOVE throwing our best fire and hammers smithing into creating unusual Artworks in Gold and Silver, happily centred around carefully set Gemstones, to magic up well-constructed Dreams that are as Expressive, Complex, and Wild as You.
We love owning the ancient skills of metalsmithing, and our dream superpower would be to have 8 arms. As our treasure box of skills develops ever more dimensions, we’re usually fearlessly working on three pieces at once and figuring out new ways to apply traditional techniques to our precious microcosms. From lost wax casting to repousse work, gemstone setting, riveting, soldering, antiquing, and inventing secret surprises like hidden windows or tiny trap doors, our inner Victorian is most satisfied when inventing what to us is always secretly a flying machine only marginally disguised as jewellery.
In the 10 years of Wildheart, we, your faithful facilitators, have become Gemstone addicts. In our obsession to find the perfect jewel for your piece, we study gemmology, jewel cuts, history and symbolism; and travel the world to curate a Special Gem Collection we call the Wildheart Vaults. We have befriended gemstone cutters, miners, explorers, specialist bohemians, and delightfully Indiana Jones type adventurers; we go to secret showings and Aladdin’s Caves. We bring our careful selections home to the Wildheart Vaults to gaze dreamily at them as they lay sleeping safely in their glowing colours, waiting for you to fall in love with them like we did and have them be part of your commissioned Artwork, or a Gallery piece filled with our own wayward dreams of imagined worlds.
4. The Armour of Love
That’s a lot to pack into each artwork we make here, but somehow it just kinda works; as the above ingredients combine into an Eternal Love Potion into our signature Wildheart Artworks; or what we like to call The Armour of Love. From Mourning Jewellery, Sentimental keepsakes, Statement Rings via Lockets to Skull Rings, we take creating your individual Story To Heart.
It’s not just jewellery… It’s deeply meaningful Art that just happens to be Wearable on your Beautiful Self.
